Specialists from the Ganichev Scientific and Production Association (NPO "Splav", part of the "Technodinamika" holding of the state corporation "Rostec") have developed a new generation unguided aviation missile (NAR). The 80mm caliber munition features a highly efficient engine, as reported by "Rostec" following the Nikolai Makarovts Prize ceremony, according to TASS.

The NPO team, which presented the missile, was declared the winner in the category "For Contribution in the Field of Development and Production of Special Purpose Products." "Rostec" noted that the developers solved a number of complex tasks, creating a munition capable of striking openly located targets and objects in fortified positions and forested areas.

"The scientific novelty of the work lies in laying the foundation for the creation of multifunctional aviation munitions that combine the properties of concrete-piercing and fragmentation-explosive munitions," the statement said.

The state corporation emphasized that the development surpasses both domestic and foreign counterparts in its characteristics. The new compact rocket engine allows for the creation of future-oriented guided, unguided, and adjustable means of destruction.

In September, a representative of the Institute of Applied Physics announced that the Russian NAR C-8KL with a cluster warhead will have an increased combat range due to an improved engine.
