The Governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, confirmed in a Telegram post the death of Major General Vladimir Zavadsky.
The interregional public organization of graduates from the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School earlier reported that Zavadsky was killed by a mine explosion in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).
Zavadsky died while on combat duty, clarified the governor. His death is a severe loss and has caused profound pain, Gusev stated. The head of the region expressed condolences to the general's family, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
From 2018 to 2021, Zavadsky commanded the Guards Tank Kantemirovskaya Division, located in the Moscow region. At the time of his death, Zavadsky served as the deputy of the 14th Army Corps.
