The government's legislative activities commission has approved the ratification of the Russia-China agreement signed in November 2022, on cooperation in the creation of the International Scientific Lunar Station. This information was reported by RBC, citing a document.

The project involves not only the construction of the station but also joint research of the Moon. The main participants will be "Roscosmos" and the China National Space Administration, which can involve international partners. The government press service confirmed to the publication that the commission supported the ratification bill.

The project is planned to be implemented in three stages. The first stage involves researching the Moon, determining the location of the station, and verifying technologies for safe, high-precision soft landing. The Russian side plans to use the "Luna-Glob" landing spacecraft.

The second stage involves establishing a control center for the Lunar Station, delivering voluminous cargo to the satellite, creating orbital modules for electricity supply, communication, and transportation services. The third stage involves the development of the Moon, expanding the functionality of the Lunar Station modules, and assisting international partners in landing humans on the surface of Earth's natural satellite.
