Putin to Run for Presidency Again in 2024

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Friday, December 8, announced his candidacy in the 2024 presidential elections during a ceremony awarding the Heroes of Russia. The politician declared his intention to Artem Zhoga, a hero of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and speaker of the region's parliament, following the ceremony of presenting the Hero of Russia stars.

The relevant request was made during an informal conversation of the president with the participants of the award ceremony. During the conversation, Zhoga asked Putin to nominate himself for another presidential term, and the head of state agreed.
