Russia is paying special attention to the enhancement of its naval strategic nuclear forces, as stated by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a Ministry of Defense board meeting, according to the department's Telegram channel.
Shoigu reported that three latest-generation Borei-A class nuclear-powered submarines have joined the naval fleet. Additionally, trials are being finalized for the strategic missile submarine "Emperor Alexander III," which is expected to join the Pacific Fleet. "The share of modern ships in the nuclear triad composition has reached 100 percent," he emphasized.
The head of the defense ministry also added that by the end of 2023, the naval forces will be further bolstered with three multi-purpose submarines equipped with "Kalibr" missile systems.
