New AKs and Lebedev Pistols Adopted as Police Weapons
"Kalashnikov": AK-12, AK-15, and Lebedev Pistols Added to Police Arsenal

Kalashnikov AK-12 and AK-15 rifles, as well as new Lebedev pistols, have been adopted as weapons by the Russian police. This information was provided by the press service of the "Kalashnikov" company.
"The 5.45-millimeter Kalashnikov AK-12, the 7.62-millimeter Kalashnikov AK-15, the 9-millimeter modular Lebedev pistol (MPL index), and the 9-millimeter modular Lebedev pistol for special tasks (MPL1 index) have been adopted as weapons by the Russian Federation's Ministry of Internal Affairs. The corresponding decree was signed by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin," stated the announcement.
The AK-12, which is the main individual firearm of the Russian Armed Forces, differs from previous versions in improved accuracy and grouping, as well as thoughtful ergonomics. Like the AK-15, it received an adjustable stock and Picatinny rails for mounting additional equipment.
In turn, the MPL pistol, developed according to the technical specifications of the Rosgvardiya, allows for the installation of additional equipment, high-capacity magazines, and a firing mechanism with an automatic shooting mode.
