Valieva to Make Second Appearance at CAS Session
Figure Skater Kamila Valieva to Make a Repeat Appearance Before CAS Arbitrators on November 9

Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva is set to make a repeat appearance before the arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, as reported by TASS citing a source close to the situation.
"Kamila will be re-heard by the CAS arbitrators today, after which she will travel to a tournament in Kazan," the agency's interlocutor said. The athlete is scheduled to compete in the fourth stage of the Russian Grand Prix series starting on November 11.
Hearings in Valieva's case were initially scheduled to take place at CAS from September 26 to 29. During the event, four parties presented their cases: Valieva herself, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Skating Union, and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency. It became known during the session that Valieva had not been notified by WADA that her sample, taken during the 2021 Russian Championship, had tested positive.
At the 2022 Olympic Games, Valieva won gold in the team event, but the Russian team was not awarded due to a doping scandal involving her. Traces of a prohibited substance were found in the skater's December 2021 sample. However, CAS allowed her to compete in the individual event, where she finished fourth.
