Russia Sends First Ships with Free Grain to Africa
Putin: Russia Dispatches First Ships with Free Grain to Africa

Russia has dispatched the first ships carrying free grain to needy countries. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 online summit, reports TASS.
"Today, I want to inform you that, for instance, to Africa, to countries in need, the first ships with Russian grain for free have been sent," said the Russian leader.
In early September, following a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Vladimir Putin promised that Moscow, in collaboration with Ankara and Doha, would supply grain to the poorest countries. It was emphasized that this would not be an alternative to the grain deal, which Russia had exited.
Later, Erdogan noted that Turkey intends to deliver 1 million tons of Russian grain to Africa in cooperation with Russia.
