Russian authorities do not plan to lift the ban on the export of winter diesel from Russia, and the possibility of further easing restrictions on the supply of summer diesel is currently under discussion, stated Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov. His comments were reported by TASS.

"There is no talk of completely lifting the ban on the export of petroleum products," the head of the Ministry of Energy said.

In mid-August, several Russian regions reported a shortage of gasoline and diesel for agricultural producers. Fuel prices on the exchange started to hit record highs daily, with retail prices following suit. Against this backdrop, the authorities introduced export restrictions from September 21, explaining them as measures to combat price hikes and shortages. Subsequently, exchange prices for the relevant products began to decrease.

In early October, the ban on diesel fuel was partially relaxed, allowing its delivery to seaports by pipeline, but only on the condition that at least half of the total production volume is supplied to the domestic market. As the Russian market became saturated with gasoline, there were also discussions about allowing the export of Ai-92 and Ai-95 petrol. Last week, the Russian government officially announced such a decision.
